Acer`s $99 Android Tablet might not reach the US

Acer is making a $99 Android tablet. This sounds great right? The problem is, it will probably never be launched in the US. The Iconia B1 as it is called is geared toward emerging markets such as China and India not North America and Europe.
The Acer Iconia B1 has even been submitted to the FCC for approval, but doing so does not automatically earmark it for sale in the US. The tablet apparently has the following specs:

7 inch screen at a resolution of 1024 x 600
1.2GHz dual-core processor.
512MB ram
8GB of internal storage
microSD card slot
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS
Android 4.1.2

not much else is known about it at this time, if Google and Asus` plans for a $99 tablet pan out it looks like 2013 might be the year of the cheap tablet.
