US Congress tags Huawei and ZTE as national security threats

The U.S. House of Representatives’ Intelligence Committee has decided that Chinese telco equipment manufacturers Huawei and ZTE are a potential threat to national security. The report is based on an 11 month investigation and claims that Huawei and ZTE could be working with the Chinese government.

"The U.S. panel's draft report faulted both Huawei and ZTE for failing to satisfy its requests for documents, including detailed information about formal relationships or regulatory interaction with Chinese authorities."
