New Intel Core i3-2308M and i3-2365M to launch in third quarter

Intel has released its first Ivy Bridge-based Core i3 processors.

The i3-2308M and i3-2365M are dual-core chips with 3 MB of L3-cache memory and Intel's HD 3000 video chip. The integrated memory controller supports RAM of up to DDR3-1333 speeds and the processors feature Hyperthreading and VT-x virtualisation. Turbo Boost, VT-d virtualisation, TXT and AES are not available.

Intel's Core i3-2308M is clocked at 2.1 GHz with a GPU clock frequency of 650 MHz and a Turbo speed of 1100 MHz. The TDP the chip is rated at 35 watts. While these specifications look pretty similar to the i3-2310M, the difference is the new chip will not support Intel's Small Business Advantage (SBA).

The Core i3-2365M will have a 1.4 GHz clock frequency and a 17 W TDP. The GPU is clocked at 350 MHz and has a 1 GHz Turbo mode. No SBA for this one too.

Intel Core i3-2308M and i3-2365M should be out by September.
