This is the face of Android fragmentation

You`ve probably have heard of the term fragmentation when referring to Android.

Have you ever wondered just how big a deal it is? This visualization showcases the problem quite clearly: this snapshot from opensignalmaps shows there are almost 4,000 unique Android devices out there running a single app available on Google Play. This visualization includes data from 681,900 users, and breaks them down into almost 4,000 devices. What is that big green square you ask?
That`s the current flagship phone the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Now that`s fragmentation for you.
